Jellyfin

Music from your own Jellyfin server on MuPiBox – connect the server, choose user and library and release content.

With Jellyfin the box plays artists, albums, tracks and playlists from your own media server in the home network.

Setup

  1. Switch Provider active on.
  2. Enter the server address, e.g. http://192.168.1.20:8096.
  3. Enter an access token / API key. In Jellyfin create a key under Dashboard → API Keys or use a user-bound token.
  4. Jellyfin user: with a user-bound token the box detects the user itself; with a server API key you choose it.
  5. Music library (optional): without a choice the box searches all music areas the user may see.

Then add content under Media & categories with the source Jellyfin.

Security

The token is only stored locally and never shown again. Tracks are handed to the player through a local proxy on the box so that the token does not appear in the stream address.
