These are the existing recommendations from the MuPiBox hardware page and the older Classic shopping list. You do not need to buy everything. Start with a Raspberry Pi, storage, suitable power, audio and—if desired—a touchscreen. Follow Installation and the GPIO guide.

125 kHz RFID is not compatible with 13.56 MHz NFC. Choose cards specifically for the reader. See RFID.

Experiment only: RC522 SPI module on Amazon *. There is no native NG RC522 driver; this is not plug and play.
