Wi-Fi, network and app troubleshooting
Find a MuPiBox NG on the LAN and diagnose Wi-Fi, mDNS, admin access and smartphone connectivity.
Local access first
Find the box IP in your router. Open http://<IP>:8090/admin/ from a device on the same LAN. If the IP works but mupibox.local does not, investigate mDNS rather than assuming the box is offline. Check guest-Wi-Fi isolation and firewall/VLAN boundaries.
Wi-Fi failure
Review the selected adapter, SSID and stored credentials under Network. If settings break connectivity, try wired LAN or local access. Repeated dropouts can be caused by power or Wi-Fi power saving.
Online providers fail
If local media works, check internet/DNS, provider authentication, parental restrictions and logs.
Smartphone app
Browser security rules may block HTTPS-to-local-HTTP connections or request local network permission. See Security & app.
Read-only SSH checks
ip -br address ip route systemctl status mupibox-ng --no-pager journalctl -u mupibox-ng -b --no-pager -n 80
