Surprise Play
Choose the audio providers that Surprise Play can use.
Surprise Play is a tile on the MuPiBox touch display. Each tap selects a playable audio item from already configured media sources. It never launches Gallery, Piano, Coloring Book or Games.
Setup
- Go to Content & Services → Providers → Surprise Play.
- Enable it and select allowed audio providers (Local, NAS, Spotify, Radio, Podcasts, ARD Sounds, Audible, Jellyfin or Music Assistant).
- Save. Configure actual media from those sources under Media & Categories.
- Add a Surprise Play media tile to a category.
Tap the colorful headphones-and-dice cover again for another surprise. Playback uses the standard player. Parental controls, blocked sources, playback volume limits and normal provider authentication still apply. If no playable audio is available, the box reports an error instead of launching an app.
Where are the sources selected?
Only once, centrally: under Providers & Services → Surprise Play. The allowlist applies to every Surprise Play tile on this box. In Media & Categories each tile shows the configured sources and a Edit audio sources link. There is no second source picker or URI field.
